Before and After Idle Report Comparisons
It is interesting to compare the idling patterns of our GPS FleetTrackerAVL customers right after the system is installed and then 30 days later. The report is called an Excessive Idle report and it's amazing what an eye-opener it can be.
It lets you run a filter against a single unit, sub-fleet, or entire fleet where you can see excessive idle events greater than a certain time period like 10 or 20 minutes. Right after the system is installed, and before the guys know a real-time GPS vehicle tracking device is in their truck, the excessive idle events are numerous and long. It is not uncommon for drivers to let the engine run while filling out paperwork or having lunch (both of those activities could be done more efficiently elsewhere). Once the supervisor or business owner examines these reports, they begin the corrective action process. It’s usually a gentle, steady process to change ones driving behavior, but after about thirty days the Excessive Idle report won’t be so excessive anymore. That translates to lower fuel expense and less wear and tear on the vehicle. This cost recovery is a core component to the ROI of the FleetTrackerAVL by trackersystems.net.
With Tracker System's gps tracking system you can reduce the idle time of your vehicles and your employees to better manage company assets for more efficient operation and higher return on investment.
