Car and Truck Tracking Information
The tracking device will send to our servers information about speed, location, ignition state and OBD-II data. Using the Tracker Systems website, you will be able to monitor speed, verify route driven, stops and more. This device integrates with our alert system, including: GeoFence alerts (Enter or Exit a preset boundary), Overspeed, Key On / Key Off and Unauthorized use.
OBD-II Data
OBD-II is a car industry word to describe the vehicle diagnostics port. The OBD-II plug-in port is commonly used by repair shops to analyze engine reporting codes. It’s located under the dashboard, near the steering column. This family of GPS Car Trackers plug into the OBD-II port know how to read the port too. The car tracker device reads and sends engine performance information and error codes to the Tracker Systems websites at regular intervals. Depending on the car or truck, this data includes Fuel Level, Power Load, Throttle Position, RPM. Additionally, the tracking device will send Vehicle MIL (Check Engine Light) codes.
Tracker Installation
A clear advantage of the OBD-II plug in device is that there’s not installation required. It is plug and play. We even provide simple installation instructions. Employees can also remove the device easily, at the end of the shift and return it to the supervisor.Battery Backup Tracker
The tracker has built in battery backup. If the vehicle battery goes dead or the device is unplugged, the device will continue to report for a little while.
Store & Forward
If the device can’t connect to the network, GPS location data is stored and will be forwared once it reconnects to our servers.
