A Guide to Choosing The Right Tracking Device For Your Business.
When it comes to tracking your cars and trucks, there are a lot of gps tracking devices on the market. The goal of our GPS tracking device buying guide series is to highlight the differences and strengths of the different types of GPS Trackers that are available. This page is all about the advantages of GPS Tracking Devices that use Satellites instead of the ground based cellular communications network.
Plug & Play Trackers | Installed Vehicle Trackers | Battery Powered Trackers | GPS Trackers with Satellite Communication
No Cellular? Try Satellite
Most GPS trackers use the extensive cellular networks built by the likes of AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile. While these networks offer extensive coverage in the US, they are mostly focused on the cities and the interconnecting interstates and roads. While its hard to believe, there are areas where coverage is weak to non-existent. In these cases, we recommend GPS trackers based on satellites for communication.
Satellite based GPS Trackers offer a range of communication plans. From low reporting units that conserve battery power to tethered & powered units that report significantly more often. The result for you, the business owner, is an extensive coverage map.
